Asst. Prof. Dr. Panavy Pookaiyaudom, Dean of Mahanakorn University of Technology, says that “MUT’s approach to education is student-centric and we simplify difficult tasks with proactive teaching techniques that equip students with deep understanding and practical knowledge. Realistic experience is a key part of our Problem-based Learning (PBL) as well as the development of soft skills that are equally needed as the hard skills in the industrial sector. Our students are armed with thinking skills, problem-solving skills, positive attitude, and a teamwork mindset, and they are ready to venture out into the outside world as graduates and innovators that are highly skilled and sought after in the workforce.”

Learning by doing and experiencing

As MUT’s mission is to produce high-quality graduates with skills at an international level, the campus’s collaboration with several leading international academic institutes covers curriculum development, teaching techniques, research, and faculty member exchange in a series of research fields and academic studies. Mahanakorn Laboratory has been established at Imperial College, England, as a research facility and lab for faculty members and students in master’s programs. And MUT also successfully founded an exchange program with The University of New South Wales in Australia MUT also initiated partnerships with businesses, various industrial sectors, and the public sector to harness deep knowledge and skills from case studies of actual problems. The initiation helps the students learn to estimate, manage and solve real problems and gain first-hand experience in the classroom under close supervision of each subject’s experts. This learning approach nurtures their thinking skills which will benefit their work in the future. Students are also encouraged to participate in various academic competitions, and MUT’s students so far have won numerous national accolades and represented Thailand in various international competitions.

To fully offer the students with both theoretical and practical learning, MUT has invested in the modernization of learning facilities, labs, equipment, and teaching materials to allow students access to quality skill enhancement, experiments, and realistic practices. Students in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology have access to experiments and training in realistic environments, such as Robotics LAB with industrial machine arms from leading brands such as ABB, KUKA and Han’s, 3D Printing Room, Process Control and Automation LAB, and PCL Mitsubishi and PCL Siemens (Programmable Logic Control). MUT also provides students specialized labs such as Advanced Electronics LAB that tests for specifically high electromagnetic frequencies, noise, electromagnetic field and wireless communication signals, while the Embedded and AI LAB features measuring equipment, applied programs and systematic development tools that are currently used in industrial level. Each learning lab is the product of industrial survey and strategic investment to further improve the existing curriculums and learning materials to keep up with the current industrial trends.

Over at the Faculty of Business Administration, MUT employs faculty members that serve as professional business coaches that are fully equipped with business strategies, sound analysis and innovative planning, as well as teaching techniques that are suitable for the rapidly changing economic and digital landscape. Students are sure to receive competitive edges and unique strengths for the digital business era.

MUT’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine carries labs, small animal and large animal hospitals for studying purposes that are fully functional with high-quality, preeminent equipment. Veterinary medicine students at MUT develop high skills and deep knowledge in veterinary science from realistic practice and innovative teaching. MUT also awards Bachelor of Science (Veterinary Nursing) degree to produce skilled, knowledgeable and ethical personnel to work alongside veterinary doctors.

Mahanakorn University of Technology offers courses in three subjects, namely engineering and technology, business administration and veterinary medicine, that pave way for careers in the digital era in bachelor’s, master’s and PhD levels. Mahanakorn University of Technology International College (MUTIC) was established in 2021 under Mahanakorn University of Technology (MUT), offering international courses in engineering and technology, as well as business administration in bachelor’s, master’s and PhD levels. Every course has the main purpose to build a strong, holistic academic foundation for the students since year one, simplify complicated knowledge and encourage them to learn by doing.  In addition, MUT and MUTIC has worked in collaboration with the partner institution aboard in supporting both internal and external scholarships for students in terms of study and research as well as student internship program.

400 faculty members across various expertise and disciplines are at the ready to carry out MUT’s mission. Students receive the highest quality of education, care and supervision from attentive faculty members to further enhance their skills and embed themselves with values and ethics for their future ahead.

Build manpower, contribute to the nation and give back to society

The world never stops evolving, the same way MUT never ceases to develop and produce innovators for the world’s innovative future.

A different perspective on management and innovative approach to education and creativity characterizes MUT, whose “Knowledge is Power” philosophy embraces all to receive high-quality education and make their own prosperous future. Regardless of educational level or background, age and future goal, MUT is where any dreams are possible.

“Our university produces more than 1,000 graduates, engineers, and innovators for the business and industrial sectors every year. With our exceptional expertise in engineering and technology, 95% of our graduates successfully enter the workforce within 6 months of graduation, while the remaining 5% become entrepreneurs or pursue higher education. This is a long-standing statistic that we are absolutely proud of. Besides our emphasis on research and development of technology and innovation, we are also aware of our responsibilities to the environment, society, and good governance. Our students are strong in academics, and they are also groomed to be mindful of their impact, both directly and indirectly, on the environment and society. MUT strives for high standard, efficient management and aspires for sustainable, long-term development that starts within our own organization, with the hope to expand to the community around us and to the country in the future.” Dr. Panavy concludes.

And once collage completed all four missions which included teaching, research, academic social service and nurturing of arts and culture, the Office of the Higher Education Commission would then certify the institute university.
